The Schedule

Mornings are for enjoying the inn's continental-style breakfast (made with fresh, local ingredients) and then settling in to work, whether it's in your room or the common area.

Lunch is on your own, and then it's back to a bit of work before the informal programming starts, with chats, brainstorming sessions and workshopping (all optional!)

For dinner, you can dine on your own or join your hosts.  We'll keep the common room open for post-dinner chats, and then free it up for those who like to work late.

Complimentary coffee, tea and espresso drinks are there 24 hours to start you up in the morning or keep you going all night.

The Town & Venue

Queenston is midway between the tourist mecca of Niagara Falls and the charm of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The village itself is along the shore of the Niagara River with  quiet streets and beautiful trails to walk.

We'll have our common room in the historic South Landing Inn. Attendees may choose to rent a room there or find their own local accommodations.

The Attendees

Our fall retreat is aimed at those in the intermediate to experienced stages of their writing pursuit. In addition to uninterrupted writing time, it provides advanced craft discussion in a small-group setting (max 12attendees)

If you’re a new writer seeking lectures and structured class time, our spring retreats may be a better fit.

The Writing Guides

The fall retreat is led by authors Kelley Armstrong & Lilith Darville. For more on their careers & credentials, see the instructor section here on the home page.

Both authors will be actively participating in the group discussions. Their role is to answer questions and provide guidance while facilitating conversation and workshopping among attendees.
